Ambergris Caye’s Popularity Means Progress and Development Country-Wide
The tourist crowds being drawn to the country through Ambergris Caye are having an economic impact elsewhere. Belize launches second phase of the Sustainable Tourism Program, which is aimed at maintaining and reducing the ecological impact tourist activities and attractions have on the country, and simultaneously stimulating the industry. The focus of this phase will be emerging destinations. Ambergris Caye is reeling with development, no doubt due in turn to the stimulus provided by phase one of this program.
