Belize Tourism Board to Sponsor World Responsible Tourism Awards
In a show of commitment to sustainable tourism practices, the BTB has agreed to sponsor the annual awards for responsibly managed, sustainable tourism. The awards aim to spotlight the incredible work being done around the world to develop and uphold sustainable tourism practices, like many you will find in Belize. Just last year, the country announced a permanent ban on offshore oil drilling in its pristine and UNESCO protected Belize Barrier Reef system, which is also its most precious natural tourism attraction.
